This text is written to introduce an approach to training in martial arts that seems to be resisted by many. The idea that one should not venture into other styles and principles of different martial arts, once they start on a path, is limiting both intellectually and physically. If one truly wants to be a martial artist in the fullest sense, limiting the journey to one area is certain to lead to a void of dissatisfaction. Having said this the danger of trying to learn more than one martial style at the same time is only for the very few gifted and even then not a wise move. But there must be a way to be a well rounded and informed martial artist without having to turn away from interesting approaches of more than one style. It is the JUKIDO system which addresses this problem. JUKIDO allows the student to study the central principles and in-depth focus of more than one style to the degree the student has set his/her goals. With guidance a systematic presentation of styles and how they compliment each other is presented to the student. Over many years I have been put in the "box" and told not to look to other martial styles for additional answers. This, I found, was unfair to the student because, No style has all the answers. Some styles speak louder to one person than another but even then all answers are not within. How does one walk the path of unlimited growth tailored to them? JUKIDO is a system to assist with mapping out your journey to achieve your goals using classical martial styles which can compliment each other in spite of what you are told by those who want their "empire" to grow at your expense.
